This International Congress aims to bring together scientists and clinicians with a medical or an allied health professional background to participate in connecting neurorehabilitation and neuroscience. Both the neurorehabilitation and neuroscience field evolve significantly and in order to optimize patient treatment, both areas should discuss current and emerging research as well as clinical practices in order to advance knowledge.

Keynote lectures covering basic neuroscience in animal models up until implementation science will be presented and form the basis for discussion among international colleagues. Focused symposia of current and emerging methods in neurorehabilitation together with oral and poster presentations will further stimulate debate, interaction and networking.

De driedaagse bijeenkomst is gericht op de meest recente ontwikkelingen op het gebied van neurorevalidatieonderzoek die rijp zijn voor vertaling naar de praktijk. Het congres biedt professionals de gelegenheid om kennis op te doen en ervaringen in het toepassen van evidence based practice uit te wisselen.

Het wetenschappelijke programma omvat vooraanstaande uitgenodigde sprekers op het gebied van neuroplasticiteit en neurorevalidatie, en zal gewijd zijn aan onderzoek naar en behandeling en implementatie van revalidatie op het gebied van de meest voorkomende problemen zoals loop- en balanscontrole, spasticiteit, cognitieve stoornissen, bij pathologien als beroerte, de ziekte van Parkinson, MS en neuromusculaire aandoeningen . Hierbij zullen ook aspecten en moeilijkheden bij de implementatie van bewijslast in het werkveld aan de orde komen.

The Dutch Society for Neuro-Rehabilitation (DSNR)

Aiming on bridging the gap between fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of neurological rehabilitation. They facilitate exchange of knowledge and scientific research between clinicians and others with an interest in neurological rehabilitation, specifically stroke, (traumatic) brain injury, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, pediatric neurological disorders and spinal cord injury. Furthermore they stimulate collaboration between clinicians and others with an interest in neurological rehabilitation (including patient organisations) and represent scientific research and healthcare policy in the field of neurological rehabilitation. Last but not least they represent (para)medical professionals in the field of neurological rehabilitation. The DSNR is member of the World Federation for NeuroRehabilitation (WFNR).
