Kestenberg Movement Profile is an observational and movement analytical framework developed by Judith Kestenberg. It has been widely applied to dance and body therapy in Europe and the USA.

The Kestenberg Movement Profile provides an understanding of movement patterns, the combination of movement qualities that make up one’s personal movement repertoire which directly relate to psychological aspects of the personality, cognitive and emotional styles, coping strategies, body-image and social relationships.

The KMP enables professionals to attune, observe, identify, notate and interpret movement qualities in a systematic way through visual graphing and movement notation. This method is especially informative in areas of assessment, treatment planning, and intervention within fields of therapy, social work, education, performance and movement studies.

The sessions aim to provide a greater depth of understanding into the wholeness and vision of the KMP and what it has to offer to therapists, educators, support and care workers, movement professionals. 

The whole KMP course entails 3x30 hour modules of theory and practice. Each module consists of theory, practice and research aspects and concomitant assignment, presentation and attendance policy to be followed for completion. 

The module I. is planned to have a mixed format with 3 days of live sessions of theory and movement practice in Amsterdam, The Netherlands with an additional 4 hour online session to reflect upon assignments. Module  I. can also be followed only through online engagement with additional reading and research assignments. Module I. is the first 30 hours of the 90 hours training necessary to apply for certification as a KMP analyst. Module II and III are planned for October and November.

There is no registration fee. A deposit of 50% of the whole course fee is required to be paid to the trainer up until 2 weeks before the start date. In case of sickness or last minute change of attendance this deposit will be refunded.

Ik ben een privé beoefenaar van dans-bewegingspsychotherapie bij Kormos Praktijk (privé dans-bewegings psychotherapie praktijk). Ik ben Certified Movement Analyst en trainer van het Kestenberg Movement Profile. Ik ben aangesloten bij de officiële Kestenberg Movement Profile Research Group in de VS die het recht heeft om certificeringsprogramma's van het Kestenberg Movement Profile te geven. Ik bekleed een PHD-positie aan de Universiteit van Pecs, Hongarije - Theoretisch psychoanalyse PHD-programma, onderzoekend en onderwijzend het Kestenberg Bewegingsprofiel. Ik ben gastdocent aan de University of Derby, UK - Dance-Movement Psychotherapy Masters 'Program. Ik vraag accreditatie aan voor het certificeringsprogramma van het Kestenberg Bewegingsprofiel dat ik binnen Kormos Praktijk aanbied voor psychotherapeuten, psychoanalytici, vaktherapeuten, docenten, ondersteuners en maatschappelijk werkers. De cursus die ik aanbied, volgt de voorschriften van de Kestenberg Movement Profile Research Group en omvat 90 uur één-op-één of groepsgebaseerde training als voorwaarde voor certificering in het KMP. Na het voltooien van 90 uur training zouden de kandidaten een bewegingsprofiel van een willekeurig geval moeten uitvoeren, dat door mij en andere bewegingsanalisten van de kern Kestenberg Research Group zal worden geëvalueerd.
