The 5th European Congress of the ER-WCPT on Physiotherapy Education goes Online
To adapt to the current situation, following the global disruption caused by the pandemic of Covid-19, the Project Board of the 5th European Congress, with full regard to preserve the scientific value of the abstracts already submitted, and considering the health and safety concerns for participants, has decided to host the ER-WCPT 2020 Congress as an online event.
For the first time, the European Region Congress will be held as an entirely online meeting that will offer the physiotherapists community the possibility for educational exchanges and scientific news.
The online platform will be launched on the 11th of September 2020, the same date on which the congress would normally have taken place in Leuven, Belgium.
Join the Congress and be part of this memorable European Region of WCPT event. Registration fees have been significantly reduced as to offer each and everyone the possibility to join. Reduced fees are available for WCPT and ENPHE members, attendees from lower income countries and students. Register now to benefit from the early bird registration fees. Deadline has been extended until July 31, 2020.
The online congress will have the same content as the in-person version and will be accredited for participation. Presentations will be arranged on the platform according to the four main tracks:
Diversity and Inclusion in Learning
Science in Physiotherapy
On the programme page you can find an overview of all accepted abstracts.
All presentations will be available for viewing via an on-line platform that shall be visible to the registered participants for almost 5 months, until the 31th of January 2021. This means that participants would be able to view all the presentations, including Keynotes and Focused Symposia. There shall be the possibility to put questions to presenters and to view a Q&A session with the Keynote speakers and Focused Symposia.
Whilst acknowledging that face-to-face interactions are very valuable and sought in terms of our social professional identity, this modification to the original plan provides an exciting opportunity for participants from all over the world to join in, without the barrier of travelling time, days lost from work or time zone differences. Participants will be able to view all presentations (instead of having to choose between different parallel sessions) and can visit every presentation as many times as they want within the given timeframe.
The online platform is still under construction, but recording instructions for presenters are already available online.
The ER-WCPT 2020 Congress is organised in collaboration with the European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education (ENPHE) and hosted by AXXON (Physical Therapy in Belgium) together with the University of Leuven (KU Leuven).
Belgian participants 24 accreditation points which will be for the month of participation at the congress
