In the Netherlands, a substantial proportion of people living with HIV (PLWHIV) achieve the World
Health Organization’s (WHO) 90%-90%-90% goals, but maintaining viral suppression and
managing comorbidities can be a challenge. Therefore, more attention should be placed on
health-related quality of life (QoL), and specifically mental health in our HIV population, where
mental health issues are more common than in the general population.
Using a Value-Based Health Care (VBHC) approach, QoL has become a focus of our HIV care and
is routinely measured in daily clinical practice. However, questions still remain around optimizing
QoL and structuring effective care paths for PLWHIV, specifically with regards to mental health.
In this evening conference, we will address the current and future interventions and approaches
to integrate mental health into HIV care in the Netherlands. We hope for a lively discussion and
would like to cordially invite you to join this conference
