International Symposium on Psychedelics in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy

Haarlem, vrijdag 24 april, 09:30 – 18:00

Dit exclusieve symposium is volledig gewijd aan klinisch onderzoek naar toepassingen van psychedelica in de psychiatrie en psychotherapie. ISPPP is speciaal georganiseerd om Nederlandse psychiaters, klinisch psychologen, psychotherapeuten en andere GGZ-professionals te informeren over de nieuwste wetenschappelijke ontwikkelingen en inzichten omtrent therapeutisch gebruik van deze middelen. 

ISPPP is onderdeel van de driedaagse Interdisciplinary Conference on Psychedelic Research, waar meer dan 80 internationale experts hun laatste onderzoeksresultaten presenteren.

Waarom?
Er is steeds meer bewijs dat middelen als psilocybine en MDMA veilig en effectief kunnen worden ingezet bij de behandeling van patiënten met (therapieresistente) stoornissen, waaronder depressie, angststoornissen, PTSS en middelenafhankelijkheid. Anders dan de meeste psychofarmaca worden psychedelica alleen toegediend in een therapeutische setting in combinatie met psychologische ondersteuning. De effecten van psychedelica zijn complex, maar er is steeds meer bekend over neurobiologische en psychologische werkingsmechanismen.

Programma
Internationale onderzoekers, psychotherapeuten en psychiaters delen de huidige stand van kennis over psychedelica en bespreken de toekomst van behandeling en onderzoek met deze middelen. Vragen die tijdens het symposium aan bod komen, zijn onder meer:

  • Hoe bepalen we welke patiëntengroepen profijt kunnen hebben, en onder welke omstandigheden?
  • Welke rol spelen factoren zoals de behandelcontext, het gebruik van muziek en therapeutische integratiesessies?
  • Kunnen we het gebruik van psychedelica combineren met bestaande psychotherapeutische methoden toepassen of zijn nieuwe methoden nodig?
  • Welke vaardigheden, competenties en kennis hebben therapeuten nodig? Hoe trainen en leiden we ze op?

What is OPEN?

The OPEN Foundation is an independent not-for-profit NGO, based in the Netherlands. OPEN was founded in 2007 with the primary goal to stimulate academic research into therapeutic applications of psychedelics. OPEN functions as a central node in an ever increasing network of experts in the field of psychedelic research in the Netherlands and Europe.

What do we do?    

We regularly organize dedicated expert meetings, trainings, symposiums, and lectures as well as the recurring Interdisciplinary Conference on Psychedelic Research, all focused on high quality and responsible science.

OPEN is a public benefit organization and registered charity with the Dutch tax authorities.
