This course covers the best of what a manual therapy programme has to offer, combining techniques from many different concepts, including Mulligan, combined movement, Maitland, and osteopathic among others. This approach provides clinicians with a range of tools to manage patients with a variety of different cervical pain disorders.
The course will cover the anatomical and functional basis to the evaluation of articular disorders of the cervical spine. Strong emphasis is placed on teaching clinicians the skills to perform an accurate and specific manual therapy examination with respect to the patient’s psychosocial factors, central nervous system sensitivity, joint, muscle and neural systems. A core principle of the programme is the ongoing analysis of the examination findings from the subjective and physical examination procedures. To ascertain an appropriate manual therapy diagnosis, critical analysis is developed through clinical reasoning applied to specific case studies.
The course will be presented at a high level but this should not prevent participation for those with less experience in this special area.
