The University Medical Center Utrecht is located in the centerof the Netherlands and has a top-referral function for patients withdifficult to treat atopic dermatitis for the whole country.The center is also certified as GA2LEN Atopic Dermatitis Center ofReference and Excellence (ADCARE).The mission of the UMCU multi-disciplinary team is to provide aholistic approach for children and adults with atopic dermatitis,including training in self-management, attention to psychosocialproblems and management of atopic comorbidities.They work in a team with different specialists, including (paediatric)dermatologists (in training), dermatological nurses, nurse specialistsand nurse practitioners, food allergy specialists, ophthalmologists,paediatricians specialised in atopic diseases, pulmonologists,immunologists/allergists and social workers.They combine top referral patient care with clinical and translationalresearch and research into innovations in care.The UMCU team will offer a varied and practical programme focusedon multidisciplinary care for adults and children with atopic dermatitis.
