This 2-day training program is designed for veterinarians who wish to perform cardiac ultrasonographic examination in small animal practice. This course will give the practitioner a basic understanding of small animal echocardiography. Major topics include ultrasound principles, normal cardiac anatomy and physiolo-gy, techniques for achieving quality results, case presentations of important diseases and hands-on scan-ning of normal dogs.

Skills taught in this course include measurements in B-Mode and M-Mode from the right parasternal view. The participants will rotate in small groups of 4-5 participants in hands-on sessions through different sta-tions with experienced instructors where individual coaching of how to obtain echocardiographic views and measurements taught in lectures is the main focus. A great opportunity to pick up the techniques of a basic echocardiographic examination in a one-on-one situation!
