The program is designed as an Intermediate to Advanced Level Course focusing on the key elements in setting up a ‘simplified force system’ utilizing Damon PSL mechanics. Experienced practitioners will benefit from the review aspect and new concepts developed after 20+ years.

Dr. Frost will be going through the phases of Damon treatment explaining how to take advantage of each and every clinical situation to make your practice more efficient.

PART 1

• Treatment Planning with Vision and Smile Design
• Disarticulation: When and where to place Turbos
• Proven Approaches to varied Class II and Class III Cases
• Diagnosis – Expanding treatment protocols. Keys – The Face, Skeletal Patterns, Muscles and Dental Alveolar modeling.
• Torque prescription, Understanding the right choices.
• D-Gainer: When, how and why?
• Impacted Cuspids: New techniques and approaches – When and how to take a high cuspid directly.
• Treatment Protocols – Distinct yet simplified biomechanics.

PART 2

• Class III treatment without Bone screws
• TADS- Indications for using TADS
• Hard & Soft Tissue Contouring for finishing
• Clinical tips and tricks for continued Success with PSL
• Archwire sequencing, overlay arch, when and how to use the accessories archwires in Damon, what to do when teeth protrude, why diastemas appear and how to avoid them.
• The steps to follow in border cases with overcrowding in the anterior. Difficult narrow arches, and different ways to correct them.
• Open bites: New ways to diagnose them and to manage them

PART 3

• Final Archwire Individualization, the factors that influence over the arch perimeter, maximum and minimum anchorage when we are closing spaces.
• Midline correction and the use of elastics. Mechanics to verticalize a molar tilted to mesial or lingual with or without TADs.

PART 4

• Rotation control – Recognize the problem and the simple fix with two key principles.
• Torque control–Most finishing problems are 3rd order control. Understanding why torque (holding couples) are the key and how to get that control early
• Finishing and contention
• Trouble Shooting your cases – This section is designed to demonstrate basic protocols to keep your cases running smoothly and manage problems that reduce our efficiency. The key is to recognize the problem, understand why it happened, re-act to it quickly, and resolve it efficiently. In turn, armed with this knowledge we can avoid these problems in the future.
