The International Society for the Study of bladder pain Syndrome / Interstitial Cystitis (ESSIC) was founded in 2004 in Copenhagen as European foundation, but has since become a global society. It is a non-profit organization for professionals. Its members are scientists and/or medical practitioners from all over the world with an interest in research into and/or treatment of bladder pain syndrome (BPS). This accreditation application concenrs the annual scientific conference held at 5-7 Dec. in Amsterdam 2019, where (inter)national experts will present on the latest topics of clincial (multidisciplinary) management and preclinical research. Target groups are predominantly : urologists, gynecologists, pelvic floor physiotherapists, specialized nurses and basic scientists in these fields
The meetings primary objectives are:
- to teach clinicians on the latest evidence based approach to clincal management of BPS
- to discuss different approaches to treating BPS patients.
- to teach clinciains and scientist on the most novel data on basic reseach.
- to provide networking opportunity's for clinicians and researchers.
- to provide a platform for international collaboration between clincians and/or researchers and/or patient associations.
- To provide clarity and consensus on the definition of BPS
