3rd European Symposium in Hypoparathyroidism: Clinical aspects for diagnosing and achieving disease control in chronic hypoparathyroidism
The Annual European hypoparathyroidism (hypoPT) symposium is a prestigious event where current topics surrounding hypoPT and their relevance to clinical practice are discussed. The biochemical aspects, diagnosis and treatment of patients with hypoPT can be complex, and considerations for management need to be further explored and understood.
This educational meeting will bring together clinicians from across the globe offering the opportunity to meet and discuss the management of hypoPT with peers and leading experts.
Goals:
To summarise the importance of parathyroid hormone (PTH) in mineral homeostasis
To understand the characteristics of not adequately controlled patients with hypoparathyroidism (hypoPT), and the importance of achieving good biochemical control and avoiding disease-associated complications and comorbidities
To review current treatment goals and guidelines for hypoPT and discuss the importance of translating these guidelines to clinical practice to achieve good disease control in patients with hypoPT
To explore how new evidence can help facilitate the understanding of hypoPT and its management, and how it will help to improve patient outcomes
