Prof. Dr.Walter Desmet (cardiologist–UZ Leuven)
Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and of Interventional Cardiology in the University Hospitals of Leuven.
- Leads the Interventional Radiological and Cardiovascular Centre and the Angiographic Core laboratory in Leuven
- Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Catholic University Leuven
- Served as a steering committee member in many international multicenter trials
Dr. Daniel van Raalte (Endocrinologist –UMC Amsterdam)
- PhD at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in Diabetology and post-doctoral research fellow at the University of British Columbia in Canada.
- Principal investigator and head of the clinical trial unit investigating pathophysiology of type 1 and type 2 diabetes as well as mechanism of action of novel glucose lowering agents such as incretin based therapy and SGLT-2 inhibitors with a particular interest in diabetic kidney disease
Prof.Dr.Subodh Verma (Cardiac surgeon – St. Michael’s Hospital Toronto)
- Professor at the University of Toronto and the Canada Research Chair in Cardiovascular Surgery
- Received the Howard Morgan Award from the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Gold Medal in Surgery
- Member of the Royal Society of Canada College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists, and an inductee of the American Association of Thoracic Surgeons.
Prof.Dr.Christophe De Block (Endocrinologist – UZ Antwerpen)
- Graduated as endocrinologist/ diabetologist at University of Antwerp
- Head of endocrinology, diabetology and metabolic diseases at UZ Antwerpen
- President of the Diabetes Liga
- Professor at University of Antwerp
- Member of the American Diabetes Association
- Involved in several mechanistic and randomised clinical trials in type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Prof. Dr.Rudolf De Boer (Cardiologist –Univ. Medical CenterGroningen)
- Completed his PhD program at the University of Groningen
- Completed a research fellowship at the Univ. of Utah, Salt Lake City and a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA.
- He was a founding member of the scientific committee of LifeLines
- Appointed as a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and president of the Heart Failure
- Working group of the Dutch Society of Cardiology.

Aan het einde van de e-learning wordt de deelnemer geacht om de behandelingen in de gepresenteerde en door het panel besproken cases, te koppelen aan de nieuwe data en richtlijnen guidelines die gepresenteerd werd tijdens ADA en ACC.
Deelnemers aan deze multidisciplinaire sessie, cardiologen en endocrinologen in Belgie en Nederland.
