The program is designed as an Intermediate to Advanced Level Course focusing on the key elements in setting up a ‘simplified force system’ utilizing Damon PSL mechanics. Experienced practitioners will benefit from the review aspect and new concepts developed after 20+ years.

KEY TOPICS COVERED

• PSL – How is it different?
  Review – Understanding the difference in PSL Biomechanics.
• Diagnosis – Expanding treatment protocols. Keys – The Face, Skeletal Patterns, Muscles and Dental Alveolar modeling.
• Extraction Cases – 4’s or 5’s. Should the decision be based primarily on Anchorage or Diagnosis
• Treatment Protocols – Distinct yet simplified biomechanics.

Keys

1. Disarticulation – Bite turbos – Where and Why?
2. Strap-ups(when to fully engage and when to bypass teeth).
3. Archwire Sequence variations and elastic protocols.
4. Finishing.

• Trouble Shooting your cases – This section is designed to demonstrate basic protocols to keep your cases running smoothly and manage problems that reduce our e ciency. The key is to recognize the problem, understand why it happened, re-act to it quickly, and resolve it e ciently. In turn, armed with this knowledge we can avoid these problems in the future.

Keys:

1. Rotation control – Recognize the problem and the simple fix with two key principles.
2. Torquecontrol–Mostfinishingproblemsare 3rd order control. Understanding why torque (holding couples) are the key and how to get that control early.
