The main topics of the course will be to learn more of
- Biomechanical principles, technical and clinical aspects of basic bone fixation
- Safe corridors and safe pin insertion techniques
- Temporary and definitive fracture fixation
- Pelvic, diaphyseal and the most frequent peri-articular fractures
The training objectives of the course will be to learn the concepts of stability and their influence on bone healing, and how to apply implants to achieve appropriate bone stabilisation. Furthermore to apprehend the principles of damage control surgery and plan the initial treatment of the severely injured patient. And even more to treat pelvic, diaphyseal and simple peri-articular fractures using different application techniques.
