We are pleased to announce an ADVANCED course MRI-in-Radiotherapy for medical physicists scheduled from October 9th – 11th 2018. This course is intended for medical physicists who have followed the BASIC course MRI –in Radiotherapy and who desire more practical knowledge to implement or conduct the introduction of MRI for radiotherapy. The course consists of a theoretical lectures and a practical exercises.We will go into detail about acquisition methods such as TSE and SSFP and contrast mechanism such as T1, T2 and diffusion. Sequence optimization for contrast, resolution, geometric accuracy, SNR will be touched on theoretically and in practice. Also QA for image quality, geometric fidelity of the scanner, patient specific QA, and phantoms will be discussed and demonstrated. The practical part of the course will involve the use of a virtual scanner and Philips 3T and two 1.5T Philips Ingenia scanners.
