The division of Nephrology of the Academic Medical Center University of Amsterdam has organized PD University courses since 1993.

More than 500 nephrologists from many European countries received post-graduate training in theoretical and practical aspects of peritoneal dialysis. Nowadays many PD University Basic Courses are held in various parts of the world.

However, besides a PD University Basic Course, updates on recent developments are an integral part of continuous medical education in the field of peritoneal dialysis. Therefore the Division of Nephrology organizes an Advanced Course of the Peritoneal Dialysis University Amsterdam.
The 2-day course intended for Nephrologists  who want to fresh up their knowledge of peritoneal dialysis, and be confronted with recent developments in the field. It consists of state-of-the –art lectures, mainly been given by members the Division  of Nephrology, and a discussion on practical problems encountered in patient care.
