Many thousands of papers have been written on Temporary anchorage devices but few of them would survive any type of scientific scrutiny. The presenters will review the literature out there as well as describing a couple of Cochrane Quality papers, that give you the facts about this extremely popular intervention. The breadth of clinical problems that can effectively be treated with TADs will be illustrated with suggestions on how to provide anchorage supplementation for the most challenging of both horizontal and vertical problems.

“Innovatie binnen autotransplantatie: 3D geleide transplantatie van gebitselementen.”
Autotransplantatie is een waardevolle techniek die een fysiologische vorm van tandvervanging biedt aan patiënten met missende gebitselementen. Gebitselementen met een open apex (50-75% wortelafvorming) zullen doorgaans na autotransplantatie vitaal ingroeien. Het succespercentage na autotransplantatie is over het algemeen hoog en de 10-jaarsoverleving na autotransplantatie is meer dan 90%.
De thans beschikbare 3D technologie maakt het mogelijk om de autotransplantatie procedure nog verder te verbeteren. Preoperatief kan een replica van het donorelement vervaardigd worden waarmee de alveole op de ontvangstlocatie kan worden geprepareerd nog vóór extractie van het transplantaat. Deze ‘3D autotransplantatie’ techniek reduceert de extra-alveolaire tijd van het donorelement en minimaliseert de kans op iatrogene schade. Zo wordt een voorspelbare planning met nog hogere kans op succes nagestreefd.
Tijdens deze lezing zullen de verschillende aspecten van ‘3D autotransplantatie’ worden geïllustreerd en worden de mogelijke indicaties (inclusief de aan onmogelijkheid grenzende mogelijkheden) worden besproken.

"Management of Paediatric Sleep Breathing Disorders"
This lecture will explore the current evidence supporting the role of the dentist/orthodontist in screening, referring and participate in the multidisciplinary management of children and adolescents with sleep disorder breathing. Cases will be shown that reflect the potential multiple locations of upper airway obstruction and also the reality that not all of those cases have the typical pathognomonic characteristics that we associated with mouth breathing.
