As a shoulder specialist who has worked in various roles and settings, including professional sport, and have been fortunate enough to work with some of the worlds leading shoulder specialists, Adam Meakins have designed a shoulder workshop that cuts through the confusing and often frustrating uncertainty that many shoulder problems can cause.
Having personally seen and been taught many overly complicated methods for assessing and treating the shoulder, he has designed his shoulder workshop to demonstrate that although shoulders are complex, they don’t have to be complicated.
Now in its third year with over 400 therapists attended in locations both nationally and internationally, these workshops promise to be informative, informal, and fun. Presented in his own unique and occasionally controversial style, you will explore the myths and misconceptions that surround the shoulder and its management.
The workshops will give all therapists the confidence that simplifying the shoulder is evidenced based, safe, and effective, as well lots of practical, helpful hints and tips that can be put into clinical practice immediately.

Adam Meakins is an upper limb Extended Scope Practitioner for the NHS in the UK and Clinical Lead Physiotherapist at Spire Bushey Hospital (Londen). He has been a shoulder specialist for over 8 years, and during this time he has worked in both professional and amateur sports, with some of the country’s leading specialists, helping a wide and diverse range of clients recover from lots of shoulder problems.
Adam is well known on social media (@adammeakins) for his honest if not controversial views and opinions as well as being an advocate for simple, evidence based advice and management. Adam has developed his own popular website called ‘The Sports Physio’ and is currently involved in clinical research on shoulder assessment and treatment. The also creator of the ‘The NAF Physio Podcast’.
Adam has been published in peer reviewed journals such as the British Journal of Sport Medicine and has been invited to write a chapter in the soon to be released 5th edition of Bruckner and Khans Clinical Sports Medicine, and can be often found giving talks and presentations internationally.
