This 2-day course has been specially designed for nephrologists, paediatric nephrologists and residents in these specialties.

The course is dedicated to native renal diseases, with special attention to renal histopathology. Pathology presentations will be alternated with a fully digitalized slide seminar - all participants will have a laptop computer at their disposal to study biopsies with virtual microscopy, immunofluorescence and electron microscopy in an integrated fashion.

Throughout the course, the emphasis lies on the recognition of histological patterns of glomerular diseases and tubulo-interstitial injury. Characteristic cases as well as more complex and rare cases will be covered.

After completion of the course, the attendants will be able to recognize the histopathological characteristics of both frequently occuring and rare renal diseases and generate an appropriate differential diagnosis. Moreover, participants will benefit of free access to the self-comprehensive e-learning platform to improve their skills in renal pathology.
