Als u als professional deze cursus gevolgd heeft dan wordt de presentie in principe ingegeven door de opleider. U kunt echter zelf ook presentie invoeren.

Tijdens deze trainingsdag, Trauma en stress, wordt aandacht besteedt aan kennisvergroting van de oplossingsgerichte technieken van de onderstaande 4 thema's, beschreven door John Henden, binnen een therapeutische setting.

4 topics:

1. a solution focused approach to working with severe trauma and/or stress
2. a solution focused approach to working with service personnel and veterans who have experienced combat stress
3. preventing suicide: the solution focused approach
4. solution focused recovery for adult survivors of child abuse and neglect

Goals topic 1: a solution focused approach to working with severe trauma and/or stress

At the end of the workshop, attendees will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an increased understanding of severe trauma and/or stress
  • Describe the characteristics of the ‘victimhood’, ‘survivorhood’ and ‘living life well’
  • Describe the basic SFBT tools & techniques used with this group of service user
  • Use a variety of specialised tools and techniques for helping survivors move further towards living life well/their authentic self
  • Recognise that the specialised techniques can be applied to all types of trauma
  • List the main points service users have made about how workers can best be helpful
  • Name the pitfalls when working with severe trauma and/or stress
  • Highlight the most helpful and useful questions to ask survivors
  • List the key ways workers can look after themselves to enable them to undertake this important work
  • Feel more confident in their work with a wide range of service users who have experienced severe trauma and/or stress and other types of trauma

Goals topic 2: a solution focused approach to working with service personnel and veterans who have experienced combat stress

At the end of the workshop, attendees will be able to:

  • Demonstrate an increased understanding of battlefield trauma and/or stress
  • Describe the characteristics of the ‘victimhood’, ‘survivorhood’ and ‘living life well’ (or, as full as possible)
  • Describe the basic SFBT tools & techniques used with this group of service users
  • Use a variety of specialised tools and techniques for helping veterans move further towards living life well/as full as possible
  • Recognise how the specialised techniques can be applied to other types of trauma
  • List the main points service users have made about how workers can best be helpful
  • Name the pitfalls when working with battlefield trauma and/or other types of trauma
  • Highlight the most helpful and useful questions to ask survivors
  • List the key ways workers can look after themselves to enable them to undertake this important wor
  • Feel more confident in their work with a wide range of service users who have experienced battlefield trauma and/or stress; and other types of trauma

Goals topic 3: preventing suicide: the solution focused approach

At the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Apply some basic SFBT tools and techniques to their work with the suicidal
  • Acknowledge their existing knowledge and skill base when working with suicidal service users (Sus) and be keen to enhance that effectiveness.
  • Have a good grasp of the basic concepts of the SF approach to the SU who expressed suicidal ideas.
  • Be confident enough to apply to apply one of the specialised SF techniques, in their work with the suicidal SU
  • Feel more comfortable in their dealings generally with SUs who want to talk about suicide or self-harm as an option for dealing with their difficulties
  • Know when, from a risk assessment perspective, to discuss the case and/or receive supervision from appropriate professional colleagues and/or mana
